WEBINAR ON CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE

A webinar on “Understanding, Preventing, and Responding to Child Sexual Abuse in Schools” was organized by Safety Troops and conducted by Bhavya Gandhi, its founder. Founded in 2020, Safety Troops is a women-centric organization dedicated to holistic safety.

Bhavya Gandhi highlighted alarming statistics, stating that 1 in 4 girls and 1 in 13 boys face sexual abuse before turning 18. She elaborated on various types of abuse, including physical, non-physical, grooming, exploitation, online sexual abuse, and peer sexual abuse. A key session feature was an interactive quiz titled “Fact or Myth,” which saw enthusiastic participation from attendees.

The discussion also covered the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act, emphasizing legal measures to safeguard children. The session was informative and engaging, equipping participants with crucial knowledge to identify, prevent, and respond to child sexual abuse effectively.
