Disaster Awareness Generation Program
Students of Salwan Public School actively participated in a program focused on disaster management, where they creatively engaged in spreading awareness about the heat conditions prevailing over Delhi during summers. Encouraged by their teachers, they participated in activities conducted by NDMA in collaboration with MyGov, after watching videos on “Beat the Heat” and how to prepare for disasters. Their goal was to help students understand the importance of being prepared and knowing what to do in emergencies. In addition to educational outreach, they participated in competitions such as making posters for “Beat the Heat” and writing essays on “My Preparedness for Heat Wave,” organized by NDMA and MyGov. These activities not only taught them about disaster management but also highlighted the crucial role of public awareness in reducing the impact of heat waves across the country. They plan to continue using educational activities and digital media to improve disaster preparedness nationwide. Video link
