Career Fair 2.0

The Career Fair 2.0 held on 22 July 2023 at Salwan Public School, Rajendra Nagar was a resounding success, attracting numerous students eager to explore various career paths. It was a curtain raiser to immense possibilities. The event was attended by parents, sister schools, students from all streams. The event aimed to provide valuable insights into different professions, featuring esteemed alumni as guest speakers who shared their experiences and expertise with the attendees. The event was attended by four students (Sribendu Prasad, Ananya Sharma, Ananya. B. Saji, Tejaswaani Kapoor) of classes XI and XII along with one teacher in charge Dr Swati Srivastava, PGT Chemistry.

Maj. Gen. Sanjeev Shukla, VSM (Retd.), Director of Salwan Public School, Rajendra Nagar, welcomed the guest speakers. He further stated that these days parents are quite eager to send their kids to foreign universities. He urged them to double check the chosen university before sending the kids. The alumni guests undertook a discussion session with the attendees to resolve their questions and address their concerns. Shri. Naresh Priyadarshani is CEO of IIIT Delhi with an experience of 28 years, is one of the notable alumni of SPS from 1987 batch. He addressed the gathering in an open forum session. He emphasized the importance of determination, a positive attitude, and the significance of listening to parents when making career decisions. Drawing from his personal journey, Shri. Naresh inspired students to embrace challenges and maintain a strong sense of purpose in their pursuits. Ms. Gurpreet Singh a prominent figure in the fashion industry and a member of commerce design centre ATDC, captivated the audience with her session. She provided valuable insights into the world of fashion, elaborating on the diverse opportunities available in the industry of fashion from degree to diploma courses. Stressing the importance of focus and adaptability, she encouraged students to nurture their creativity and stay updated with emerging trends in the field. Dr. Anshu Chaudhary, a distinguished psychology professor in Delhi University shed light on the psychology field, capturing the interest of aspiring psychologists in the audience. She discussed various subfields within psychology, career prospects, and the impact of psychology in diverse settings. Her session provided a comprehensive overview of the subject and inspired students to explore this intriguing field of study. She emphasized on fact that child should always choose a career with his/her choice, wherein they can give one hundred percent. The discussion by eminent speakers was followed by a question-and-answer session, where both parents and students put up their queries.

The session ended with vote of thanks to special guests and team by Smt. Priyanka Barara, Principal of Salwan Public School, Rajendra Nagar,. Aside from the guest sessions, the Career Fair also featured interactive activities such an informational booth, and networking opportunities by renowned universities around the world. Students were able to engage directly with representatives from different industries, gain practical insights, and seek advice on their career paths. The event facilitated meaningful connections between students and professionals, fostering a conducive environment for learning and growth.
