Webinar On ‘‘Commemoration Of International Day Against Violence And Bullying At School’’
The webinar emphasised the critical need for safe, violence free educational environments. Led by keynote speaker Mr. Anandrao Vishnu Patil, IAS, Additional Secretary, Department of School Education and Literacy, Government of India, the session outlined strategies to address all forms of bullying and uphold every learner’s right to education without violence or discrimination.
Prominent participants included Mr. Manoj Shrivastav, Director of Training at CBSE, Ms. Sita Jadav, National Program Officer for UNESCO, Tim Curtis, Director and UNESCO Representative and Ms. Jenelle Babb, Regional Adviser at UNESCO Bangkok. These leaders shared insights on promoting zero tolerance towards bullying, emphasising empathy, digital well-being, and proactive community engagement.
The session highlights understanding the scope of violence and bullying, preventive strategies within schools, and the need for digital safety to address cyberbullying. It focused on fostering empathy and emotional intelligence as essential tools for creating supportive school environments. The interactive Q&A allowed participants to share best practices, fostering a collective commitment to building a positive, inclusive educational space. This initiative demonstrated the importance of collaboration among school leaders, educators, parents, and students in protecting, educating, and empowering learners for a safer, more inclusive future.
