Ms. Chetna and Ms.Neha Kohli got a rare opportunity to attend and be part of the Educators Summit for Viksit Bharat @2047 at Ahlcon International School, Mayur Vihar, Phase 1 on 28th September 2024.The idea was conceived with the aim of uniting today’s educators to engage in discussions and debates on the education system across various contexts, with the goal of shaping a brighter future for the next generation.
The theme of the event “Better Education, Better Future, Better World. – Transcending capacity of Educators in Transforming Education” directly aligns with the objectives of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a developed India. The summit aimed to bring together educators across the capital to discuss and deliberate on how to make the schooling system today more robust for students to make them more future ready and enable them to become an asset for the nation as a step towards achieving the goal of Viksit Bharat@2047.
In the opening ceremony, the principal of the institution, Mr. Sanjay Yadav emphasized the vital role educators play in shaping the community and fostering skills in alignment with the ever-changing dynamics of the world. The Guest of Honour , Mr. Samarth Pathak Communication Officer and Focal Point, UNDoC, South Asia who emphasised on values like peace, justice, respect, harmony, integrity, and the rule of law, noting how the lack of exposure to these principles is negatively affecting the behaviour of today’s youth.
Progressing further, the event featured a captivating dance performance paying tribute to Lord Ganesha, titled Nrityadhwani: A symphonic dance, which mesmerized the audience with its vibrant choreography and melodious music.
Finally, the conference was declared open by President Aanya Arora, who emphasized the need for reform in response to the changing landscape of society. The Committee 1 saw an engaging exchange of ideas, with delegates showcasing diverse approaches to education reform highlighting its states’ efforts to collaborate with others for India’s educational advancement.
The debate highlighted the varying priorities of states, ranging from infrastructure and equity to mental health and sustainability. It underscored the collective effort to build schools that are not just physically prepared for the future but also inclusive and mentally supportive for all students. The Committee 2 delegates emphasized its commitment to integrating AI and coding into education, aiming to equip students for a tech-driven future. Some states drew connections between ancient mythology and modern technology, referencing the Ramayana’s Pushpak Vimaan as an early example of AI-like innovation. Concerns were raised about media portrayal of school safety incidents, with a call for responsibility among educators and parents.
The forum also highlighted diverse strategies and the need for collaboration to effectively leverage AI in education across India. The Summit concluded with a closing ceremony with Principal Mr. Sanjay Yadav expressing gratitude to all the participants who were part of the great learning process. This was followed by a thought-provoking Panel Discussion amongst the Dignitaries. Their responses emphasized the importance of cultural diversity, student empowerment, and equipping students with skills for an uncertain job market. They also highlighted the need for creativity by advocating for a supportive environment where children are not subjected to unnecessary criticism.
Finally, the ceremony was wrapped up with an inspiring speech and an engaging video of the event that captured the minds and hearts of the audience. Overall it was truly an enlightening session for all the participants.
