Baisakhi

The vibrant festival of Baisakhi was celebrated with fervour and gaiety in Salwan Public School, Mayur Vihar, on Friday,12 April 2024 to imbibe the values of every culture in children. Through thoughtfully curated activities, students were encouraged to explore and celebrate cultural diversity while commemorating the spirit of Baisakhi.

The rhythmic beats of the dhol welcomed students, setting the tone for an engaging and immersive experience. The students of Preschool to grades II came dressed in traditional attire to mark the occasion and carried back home memories in the form of self-made crafts. The students of grades III-V were shown a video on the importance and significance of celebrating Baisakhi’s cultural heritage. This helped them learn more about India’s festivals and later they created stick puppets and cards in their SDP periods. Meanwhile, older students, dressed in vibrant Punjabi outfits, delved into the various aspects of Baisakhi, gaining a deeper appreciation for its cultural significance.
